Computer aided design
This new major allows students to select courses which correspond with their aptitudes and career goals. The choice depends on students’ interests and plans related to obtaining knowledge in this field and job market demands.
Every course is awarded with a certain number of ECTS credits. Each student has to obtain at least 30 ECTS credits to complete a semester. ECTS credits are obtained as a sum of ECTS components for a particular course. They are awarded for:
Students’ active participation is required in all courses. They can attend lectures, practicals and acquire knowledge through self-study and project work. If students do not fulfill all requirements of a particular course, they obtain partial ECTS credits only.
Multimedia techniques
The main objective of this major is to prepare graduates to work with various media, present the ways of their usage and to provide students with knowledge that enables the practical integration of image, sound and text when creating complex publications. Students obtain core theoretical knowledge which is the foundation for self-study in this field. The major field of this studies is graphic design – either static or dynamic.
The application of IT technologies in public administration
This major aims at educating specialists who deal with the implementation of IT infrastructure in public and local government administration units. Studies put emphasis on the integration of knowledge related to administration (including law and management) and high level preparation to work as an IT specialist.
Graduates obtain essential knowledge and skills to work in local government units and in other institutions which use defined administrative functions of IT systems (education – especially colleges and universities, research institutes and social institutions).
The application of IT techniques in economics and company management
The main objective of this major is to educate IT infrastructure managers in various enterprises. The emphasis is put on the integration of knowledge related to economics and management (including law and economic administration) and high level preparation to work as an IT specialist.
Graduates will find employment in IT units and companies’ IT departments. Moreover, obtained skills allow them to work in IT companies which create and implement software that provides support for management and business processes in other companies.
Automatic Control and Robotics
The main objective of this major is to educate graduates who obtained knowledge related to IT and automatic control and robotics.
Skills developed in this field offer graduates a wide range of opportunities, as far as their employment is concerned, since automatic control can be applied in chemical and textile industry, energetics, manufacture, medicine (medical robots), building automation (smart buildings) and administration (motion control and monitoring). The users of such systems need highly qualified and comprehensive specialists and there is a growing demand for such employees on the job market.
ICT and IT Systems Security
The main objective of this major is to make students familiar with the issues related to networks and ICT systems, their security, structure and management. Graduates obtain knowledge related to network operating systems and the methodology of ICT system security. They are able to create, implement and use such systems.
The program of studies includes network operating systems, network management, network motion control and other network techniques and technologies. Graduates know network models and protocols and can manage complex networks and solve existing problems. There is an emphasis on theoretical and practical approach to security issues, including legal aspects. Graduates can plan and implement security policy in the company.
Job market offers a lot of opportunities for ICT and IT systems security graduates since there is an ICT network in all large enterprises. Such conditions create a demand for skilled employees. Moreover, the growing importance of information in companies and institutions only reinforces this trend.
